What Rev is
Rev sells two different things under one brand. The subscription tiers are AI transcription with a large monthly allowance — five thousand minutes on Essentials, ten thousand on Pro — and separately they sell human transcription at $1.99 a minute, which is a person typing rather than a model.

Where Rev is the better choice
Their human transcription is the honest answer for audio that defeats software: heavy accents, crosstalk, courtroom recordings, anything where a wrong word has consequences. We do not offer that and cannot match it. On the AI side, Essentials includes eighty-three hours a month, so past about fifteen hours they are cheaper per hour than we are.
Where we are
$1.99 a minute is $119.40 an hour — roughly sixty times our price for the same hour of audio, which is the trade you are actually making. The AI subscription is per seat and renews whether or not you use it. We charge $2.00 for that hour whether it is your first this year or your fortieth this month.
Which to pick
Pick Rev when accuracy has to be underwritten by a human and the budget allows it, or when your team reliably uses more than fifteen hours of AI transcription a month.
Pick us when the audio is clean, the volume is uneven, and paying by the hour beats paying by the seat.
What you get either way, from us
$2.00 per hour of audio, $2.00 minimum per file, tax included. No subscription, no seats and no expiring credits. If a transcription fails, the card authorization is cancelled and no money is taken. Audio is deleted 90 days after your last sign-in.
