What we do

Upload an audio or video file, pay $2 per hour of content, and get an accurate transcript with speaker labels in minutes. That's it. No monthly fee, no credit packs, no tiers.

We support 90+ languageswith automatic detection, all at the same price. Whether you're transcribing an English lecture, a Japanese interview, or a Spanish podcast, the cost is $2 per hour.

Our technology

TranscribeCat is powered by OpenAI's latest speech recognition models, which deliver near-human accuracy across dozens of languages. We combine this with automatic speaker diarization to identify and label different speakers in your recordings.

The service is built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel. Payments are handled by Stripe. Files are processed in isolated cloud workers and automatically deleted after transcription completes.

Why pay-per-use

Most transcription services charge $10-25/month, which makes sense if you transcribe every day. But most people don't. Students need transcription during exam season. Podcasters need it after recording. Researchers need it during fieldwork. The rest of the time, a subscription is money wasted.

Privacy

Your audio and video files are automatically deletedfrom our servers after transcription completes. We don't store recordings, don't train models on your data, and don't sell your information. Only the text transcript is kept in your account, and you can delete it anytime.

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool that doesn't use cookies or track individual users. Read our privacy policy for full details.

Refund policy

If a transcription fails for any reason, you get an automatic refund to your original payment method. No support ticket, no waiting, no questions asked.
